Every exhibitor faces the same question: build a custom stand or rent a modular system? Both are right, for different situations. Here is how we help clients decide.
What a custom stand gives you
A custom stand is built once, for one brand, on one floor plan. It can carry a double-deck, a private majlis, a product theater or any shape the designer draws. Visitors notice it, and that attention is the point: custom stands exist to make a statement at the shows that matter most.
What a modular stand gives you
A modular system uses standard frames with printed graphics. It costs less, builds faster, and the parts are reused show after show. For a company that exhibits four or five times a year, a good modular kit with fresh graphics often beats one expensive custom build.
The three questions that decide it
- How many shows this year? One or two: custom. Four or more: modular, or a hybrid.
- What must happen on the stand? Meetings and hospitality need built spaces. Handing out brochures does not.
- Who are your neighbors? If competitors invest heavily at the same show, a weak stand costs more than a strong one.
The hybrid option
Many of our clients land on a hybrid: a modular structure with one custom element, a feature wall, a counter or a hanging banner, that carries the brand moment. It keeps the budget sane and the stand memorable.
Whichever way you go, start eight weeks before the show: design and approvals in weeks one to three, production in four to six, and the final week for logistics. See how AfkarCity builds stands.
